Find Free Microsoft Office Download For Mac

I just had my damaged HD replaced and was told that none of my downloads would be saved (and I didn't realize I even had any.) Anyway, I now remember downloading something for free that enabled me to look at Microsoft docs. I have my resume on a flash drive but when I put it in my computer now, it shows up as a Zip file and won't allow me to open it. (I had no problem with it before my HD died.) I was told this is because I don't have the application to open it and I should just download one for free. I was told to go to OpenOffice.org which i did but nothing there would help me.

I have looked online for other websites or links offering free Microsoft downloads for my Mac 10.4.11 but can't find anything. I'm currently unemployed and really don't want to spend any more on my laptop as this was only temp fix until i find a job and can get a new Mac. Can anyone send me a link for something that will work with my computer now as I can't find anything.
